Smoke alarms generally require replacement after 10 years. Carbon monoxide alarm life varies by model—check the expiration or end-of-life date printed on the unit. Conventional CO alarms may last about five to seven years, while certain sealed-battery models provide ten years of operation.
If your home already has hardwired detectors, we usually replace them with compatible hardwired units (often with battery backup). If you have battery-only units, a sealed 10-year battery package is often the simplest upgrade. Text a photo and we’ll tell you which path fits.

Yes. An adult should be present to provide access, approve placement if needed, and walk through testing when we’re done.
